Artist of the week!
It took two albums to make me a believer, but Mr. Fiasco earns top honors being crowned, "Artist of the Week" to kick off October! Food and Liquor was just the beginning in my eyes, as he touched on topics in a colorful, yet purposeful manner. But it was "The Cool", the solidified his artistic abilities, bringing something completely unheard of to the Hip Hop world. An album with characters, a plot and a conclusion, yea like a movie! How often do you have an album drop, with a title, and the title has absolutely nothing to do with the albums content? That's a reoccurring theme with albums of late, which makes "The Cool" a breath of fresh air. Now if you haven't heard his album, you are really missing out on something special. Though the promotion was lackluster, it was easily competitive with other albums that released that quarter, content wise. Especially since his album dropped after Kanye West/ 50 Cents big week AND Jay-z's "American Gangster", but neither one of those albums can compare with the art Lupe has expressed in tracks like "The Coolest", "Streets are on Fire" and "Put you on Game". Nonetheless, the kid has skill, and "The Cool" is his arena to prove it. This track is called "The Coolest", check the Shakespeare style delivery and I beg you to differ.
