This weekend's award goes to a man who has created thousands of followers and just as many enemies. The Hon. Min. Louis Farrahkan! YES, Farrahkan. Check out this speech at the State of the Black Union and I dare you to differ. Tavis Smiley gets reviews from his (at the time) newly released book "The Covenant". (btw I own the book, and recommend everyone checks it out.) Farrakhan is the "top artist" this week simply because "we need to start thinking like free men and women who don't want to live on a plantation anymore". Farrahkan is 100% right when he says, "we need to make a covenant with black America", because our current state will never change unless WE make that desired change ourselves. I want you to see this video and ask questions. Ask about the North American Union, ask where all of this fits in Gods plan and figure out your purpose. Because time is real, so is slavery and so is truth. Get free ya'll.

Whose fruit are we? That is a very profound question, and it is very true that we are what we believe. I don't know if you received my comment on my first words entry. I hope you did. After watching some of the videos you posted, I realized something: It's very, very sad that hatred is propagated more so than love, whether it be hatred towards self, others, differences in opinion, etc. Granted, there are some things that I feel we should hate...lies, ignorance, fear, greed...immorality in essence. We despise the wrong things, love the wrong things, focus on the wrong things, deny the wrong things, claim the wrong things, etc.
Why is it so hard for people to assert the truth? their truth? the truth about what's happening in the world? their world? Is it from fear, which never allows anyone to experience the truth of the moments in their life...to progress, to mature, and grow in wisdom as time moves forward ? Is it from pride, which falsely asserts the importance of one's essence over another? Is it from lust, which is a desire for something that one is not supposed to have in order to keep one's spirit free from anything that is contrary to the truth for you?
Your post spoke to me because at this point in my life, I'm tired of hatred. I'm tired of seeing so many people suffer from ignorance. I'm tired of people lying to others and themselves. I'm tired of allowing things to happen to myself or others that I know isn't right or good. It's sad. It really is.
The thing that I know in life is that you can only tell the truth about what you know, which is why knowledge is power, and education opens the door to independence and self-actualization, which is why I feel like so many blacks are still poor. Through your blog, you are sharing what you know, and I thank you for openly doing so, because it speaks of your desire to be true to yourself and to share the truth and its essence with others. Bravo to you for that, because most guys are not into that...what is truth?...some might say.
I think that black people are somewhat afraid of our own. I don't know why, but in our culture, whether its socioeconomic differences, differences in opinion, differences in dress, etc.,...we tend to stigmitize those who are different as being wrong, when in actuality, different is in reference to an entity...but it really may not describe anything tangible to someone if you do not see it as such, and wrong is in reference to an entity, but it denotes the very nature of the entity. A math problem is right or wrong in reference to everyone who solves the problem and according to the true answer. My music may be different to you, but it may be the same music that your friend listens to on a regular basis. People don't focus on morals anymore...right and wrong...to kill or not to kill...we focus on pretty or ugly...rich enough to hang with me or too poor to be about anything... We do have some growing to do as black people. I plan on dedicating each day to do so and to share more truth with people. I really do try to express what I know to be true, which is difficult sometimes, but it's better to try than to not try at all.
I don't have the book that was in the first clip I saw, but I do have Dr. West's Democracy Matters...a great book that I think I'm going to read again now that I've seen this. Another great book that my friend actually made me buy was Black Skin, White Masks by Frantz Fanon...read that!
Bravo on your entry! Keep blogging! :o)
