I still haven't changed my mind....

I still think N.E.R.D had the hottest album in '08....
(Here's the statement I made about a month ago..)

"....this was the hottest album of 2008. Yes, the hottest! Not saying albums like The Roots "Rising Down" or "Untitled" by Nas were not dope, they just lacked something. N.E.R.D.'s "Seeing Sounds" just provided a different feel on an album that I've never heard in Hip-Hop. They gave me something original in an ecclectic manner. This is why I chose this album as the hottest of the year. The year is far from over, and big name albums like Kanye's "808s and Heartbreak" and 50 Cents "Before I Self-Destruct" have the potential to blow Seeing Sounds out the water. But until then, The Neptunes have earned my respect in '08! I'm looking forward to the next one."_Jazz

Twit for Tat.

Myspace pages, Facebook profiles and Blogs. All internet sources of the "lazy mans" communication. "Lazy" in a sense that, no one needs to "call you", to find out what you're doing or where you have been in the recent months. I am apart of all three websites and just jumped on the bandwagon for the fourth, "Twitter". Twitter seems to be replacing blog entries and facebook status' in a blink of an eye! Why? I have no clue. Twitter is a huge on-line "status" checking universe, where you can choose to follow celebrities, family or friends profiles. Along with, obtainung updates on what they're doing as of that moment. Now, being new to Twitter sucks, because if no one is "following" your status, then it kind of defeats the purpose of joining. But the more interactive you are with following other people, or obtaining your own personal followers creates another huge source of communication on-line. Soooooo, with that said. JOIN TWITTER AND ADD SIMPLEXOFFCIAL AS A FRIEND!

The lyrics on this track really have a poignant message, I feel like we are all guilty bystanders in the topic. Just listen to the lyrics and see if you can call yourself innocent of all the substances they mention. Almost none of us use/abuse all of the things they rap about, but everyone has a hand in the cookie jar that they describe. You understand, they are talking about YOU. Stop and think about it, a little bothersome how invasive the topic is. Good HH track that makes you stop and think.

I don’t want to give it all away, don’t want to be too specific, I want you to listen and think for yourself because I think that’s the tracks best feature.

This track is fairly unique among rap tunes, the callback vocals and the guitar tracks ring like “world”, reminds me of reggae music, they bring some other genres into the act.

Also the hook has a perfect down-on-it stress to it. The vox are all up front and clear. Very accessible and listenable stuff.

But uh.. I think these guys need and mature audiences warning…just to be official.

Maybe abrasive, maybe the track is shocking, bothersome, boisterous, but they wanted it that way. The message they bear is not something you would politely mention to someone, it’s something that has to be shouted.

So you’re stuck in your car behind somebody with no clue. Let’s say they are talking on the cell phone and you are stuck waiting to pass around them. They are oblivious that your car is waiting. So you have a few choices.

a. Get out of your car and walk up to them and quietly and calmly alert them to the situation, ask them nicely to move.
b. You stick your head out the window, honk the horn and yell, “Hey move it a**hole!

They chose option #2. But that fits and I like it that way. The style of delivery fits the story. It is just restrained to enough to stay in control, but unrestricted enough to have free speech with a punch.

It’s to move you to think about it. The song is a strong commentary about US. What we accept as normal, what we don’t stop to think about anymore. Well, maybe they’re right, you should stop and think about it.

OC venting on "Fake Boycotters" lol

OC from Nsomniak speaks his peace about Facebook users attempting to boycott the internet site.

"Ok here's the deal. It has come to my attention that there is a group/event called "The Facebook Blackout." I believe that this group was created in order to boycott the unfair treatment that Facebook users "suffer" from these constant changes. In order to combat these "injustices" the group creator decided to stay off Facebook for one day. Sigh.....

First of all Facebook did not turn itself into a multi-million dollar business by catering to the likes of YOU. Second, Facebook is a business in the business of technology. If we know anything at all about technology (and we all should know this much), we should know that technology does not have the time to waste waiting for YOUR uninformed opinion. Technology changes all the time and if your not on the decision making end then all you can do is accept (or reject).

With that being said, lets talk about this boycott. There seems to be a recurring trend in these so called "boycotts" of this generation. THEY ARE ALL WHACK!!!! What is the good in boycotting any business for one (1) day? Whether it be gas or facebook, one day of "no support" is not going to do shyt! If this is what our generation calls an attempt to make change then Im very disappointed in us.

Facebook does not get paid for your use. They give us all these services for free don't they? There is probably an advertisement to your right...thats how Facebook gets paid. Thats based on the fact that at almost any given moment there will be hundreds of thousands of people who will view any posted ads.

I will close with this. The Montgomery Bus Boycott started by Martin Luther King and comrades in 1955 (Dec. 1) lasted for over a year. That's how you hurt a business. Cristal said he don't wan't hip hoppers (black people) endorsing his drink so Jay-Z STOPPED supporting (for those of you still drinking Cristal like its kool, smh).

If we are really upset at Facebook and want to make serious changes then lets get a million people to shut down their facebook accounts. When we're ready to take it there then I'll jump on board but until then I think a lot of you need to STFU!"

Finally...LG Prada ii....with wi-fi

"We’ve had word from LG that it’ll launch the awesome new Prada II mobile on Tuesday, confirming it’ll arrive in stores before the end of November!

"We simply can’t wait to get our hands on the new fashion phone, which LG has already confirmed will pack a 5 megapixel camera, slide out QWERTY keyboard and expandable memory.

Those specs mean it’ll rival the iPhone, BlackBerry Storm and T-Mobile G1, although it remains to be seen whether LG will let apps be developed for it.

Of course, the touchscreen will remain, with a 3-inch display running 400×240 resolution.

We’ll bring you more details as soon as we can, as well as a first hands on next week. In the meantime, you can check out the first official photos of the phone here! Stay tuned!"

Leaders of the New School. XXL Edition.

2007 Cover

2008 Cover

I feel my music, though not similar to, but is comparable to, those on the cover of this months XXL "Leaders of the New School" issue. (Which is why I aim to be on the cover next year.) As opposed to last years issue, this year provided a much more even match up between up-and-coming solo artists who bring something different to the hip hop table. Last years issue only provided 2 successful artists (Lupe & Plies) and plethora of one hit wonders and even artists who have yet to land on the scene. Not saying this years edition will provide a huge change in the amount of "sucessful" artists produced, but I do believe the gap between successful artists and the under-acheivers won't be as great.

Let's see if I'm right!
Congrats to all those who made the cover. See ya'll next year!`

"Just give me 10 minutes......"

Its been a whole year since I quit smoking all tobacco products, and I am proud of it! But recently, I've started to envy some smokers especially after hearing Joe Buddens "10 mins" track off of his debut album, "Joe Budden". The track is on the page, but don't blame Buddens for my recent thoughts of smoking, blame society. See, on this particular track Buddens opens up about a lot of his own personal issues in his life and relieves himself by indulging in a cigarette. Damn I miss those days! I mean, going to class and work and washing the day down with a Black and Mild to reflect. But since I "quit", those moments of reflection are consumed with wasted time on the internet or useless talk with the roomates (no offense). I am not going to start smoking again, because I've come to far..but damn, I wish I had those 10 minutes!
